Based off of a dream I had

The Ship

I was walking in the park with Jak, my little buddy from one planet over. I saw a big shadow appearing on the ground, but it was too dark to be cast by a cloud. Maybe a new ExoTech™ delivery drone? I looked up, and saw nothing like it. It was an enormous rectangular ship, with huge thrusters on either side. It had yellow lights running across the sides, front and back. I could only see it from the bottom, but from there it already looked like an upper-class X1 ship. You rarely see these, especially near our planet, but for it to come so close to cast a shadow is quite the phenomenon.

The next thing I know, I was surrounded by a bright light that came from the ship. At first, it seemed a bit beige, but then it got more sand-colored and it's intensity increased. I felt my body get light and the dirt on the ground around me started levitating. I felt the teleportation beam from the ship pulling on every part of my body. After no more than 345 milliseconds I was teleported up to a medium-sized room that was covered in metal sheeting. There was a big window that stretched from half the side walls over to the front wall. I peered outside and saw only the blackness of space, with some shimmering white dots for stars. I looked downward and saw the familiar blue-green color of my planet getting smaller and smaller, we had to be moving at at least 2 LY/s. I looked around the room further and noticed it had the shape of the t-block tetrimino, with the window on the long side, and the two doors on the top side and left side.

I noticed a sign on the left door that said "ℸ ̣ 𝙹╎ꖎᒷℸ ̣". I don't know what language it was, but somehow I noticed it said "Toilets". I had to go, so I thought "why not? I'm here anyway.". I went through the door and the toilet had a whole different aesthetic than the other room I was just in. It reminded me of old russian architecture and it was covered in red bathroom tiles. The urinals themselves were made from red marble with yellow and white ornaments. They had those old western-style push doors behind every one of them. I remember them being way too close to the urinal, making using them quite uncomfortable. There were some other guys walking in and out the bathroom through the other door in the back.

It's been what, 3 months since I got on this ship? Life's been going by pretty fast while being here, it's like I'm in a constant dream. I'm currently in the large cafeteria looking out onto the recreational zone. This ship is way bigger than I thought. It has a cafeteria roughly the size of two football fields, and the whole ship must be over 5 km long. On one size is the recreational zone, or "leasure area" as I've also heard it being called. It's about 300m wide, and runs the whole length of the ship. Attached to the back of the cafeteria are the sleeping chambers, where everybody lives. It's just as wide as the cafeteria, and runs the rest of the length of the ship. The other part of the ship is the most ordinary, it's all farmland. Farmland with hills, all kinds of crops and animals. It's what produces the food for everybody here. The ceilings and walls are covered in screens, showing a simulated sky and horizon. The room I started in with the bathroom is all the way to the front of the ship. I drew the layout to be able to memorize it faster.

I was looking at the recreational area, specifically the "ᓭꖌᔑℸ ̣ ᒷ " (Skate) section. It consisted of a pretty sizeable concrete skatepark with a pumptrack attached to it. The ceiling and walls were covered in screens simulating a sky, except for the side that attached to the cafeteria. This side was covered in glass, enabling you to peer through.

The next day it was my shift on the farmland. We entered through a door and ended up on a plains area with shallow hills covered in green grass. The skies were colored bright orange, indicating a sunset. We were tasked with collecting fruit that had fallen from the numerous apple trees that were scattered around the hills. I was with a few other people, whom I didn't know. We didn't talk anyway, as it was forbidden to do so while out on the farmland. There was this other guy that kept giving me dirty looks, but I didn't know him. Then, while picking some apples up from the ground, I heard footsteps approacing at a high speed. I turned around and saw the guy charging at me with an angry look on his face. He tried to sucker punch me, but I ducked away just in time. He turned around and swung at me again, hitting me this time. I fell backwards on my back, and quickly rolled over to get back up. I swung at him trying to land a good hit, but he moved away and my fist only slightly grazed him. I saw an opening, and thrusted forward with my other arm. He made a gurgling "oof" sound as I punched his throat.

Before I got the chance to hit him again, a loud alarm could be heard coming from the ceiling. The sky turned darker orange, and the screens on the walls around the door through which we entered the farmland started flashing white. Everybody gathered the last apples they could, and made a run for the door. I did the same. In a few minutes, the ceiling would turn from a dark orange to a bright blue, and shift into a blindingly bright white that would burn your skin once you touched it. I had seen this happen once, and wasn't going to have it happen to me.
